in case you forgot: this was a really cool looking movie

i kind of want to get the blu-ray of this so I can watch it without THE MAGIC OF THREE DEE making it look all dark and blurry and shitty

As far as being a narrative, I think Legacy falls flat. It’s not bad or good, just average and forgettable. But in terms of visual style and building a compelling world, it’s fantastic. I remember walking out of the theater going “that was kind of a mediocre movie, but I would totally write fanfiction based on the universe created in this movie.”

I never write fanfiction.

now, if Sam had been a stronger protagonist, either by being a little more likeable and charismatic or by being just more of an interestingly angry young dick who eventually learns to man up, then maybe it would have been a better story

also I wish the ”ISOs” hadn’t been a thing, or at least hadn’t been a plot device that we were supposed to empathize super strongly with for like twenty seconds before they all get killed or whatever

also how the fuck can a computer program even be alive in the real world, what a completely nonsensical ending

it was still like my fave movie of 2010 after Scott Pilgrim, though, just for the style

Crappy plotlines be damned, I’ll watch this anytime because DAFT PUNK AND EVERYTHING IN THE GRID GLOWS BEAUTIFULLY
